Review: I wanted to enjoy this one, I really did. The writers seemed like they were done with the detour, but…yeah this wasn’t good. It wasn’t bad either. I’m going to say this was mediocre.
This show really does feel like Favreau was playing with new toys, and then got bored and went back to his old ones. The last two episodes were not a good idea, and then this one really annoyed me.
It wasn’t the big seige, that was fine up until the end. It was Grogu. Having Grogu show up at the end ruins the second season of the Mandalorian and steals the spotlight from the true star. Having Grogu restore the status quo for Din annoyed me.
I’m not saying this has ruined Star Wars forever because that’s not true. But it was a disappointment. We’ll see if things improve when Kenobi on May 25.

You say twice in two sentences that this episode annoyed you; you complain about it for the whole review, and then you refuse to say it’s bad like someone is gonna take away your Boy Scout badge if you admit you can actually tell the difference between good and bad. Tell me what you really think–and I mean that.
I didn’t enjoy it as much as I wanted to. And the fight was cool at first. I’ll admit, I even liked the rancor. Right up until Grogu put it to sleep. I think the show relied too much on fan service toward the end, as if the writers were saying “Hey, you liked the mechanic, right?” “You liked Grogu? Well here he is, in the wrong show!” I can’t call it bad because I wasn’t bored. But I had a feeling that I knew where things were going.And I feel like having Grogu go back to Din negates the whole arc of bringing him back to get trained. I’m not afraid to say it sucked.
My other problem with the fan service is you won’t get why Cad Bane is such a bad dude unless you’ve watched the Clone Wars, and not every fan has. A lot of fans have only watched the movies. So the effect is lost.
